Night Swim with Manta Rays

TOUR TIME

6:00 pm
Duration: 2 1/2 hours

DESCRIPTION

The evening departure allows for you to enjoy the sunset on the ocean. As you motor out from Honokohau Harbor in Kona to the dive site, which is about 20-30 feet deep, your crew will go over some fun facts about Manta Rays and other specific info you will need for your adventure.

As the sun sets and it turns into night, the flashlights come on and the ocean is lit up electric green like the Emerald City form the Wizard of Oz. Manta Rays come close and perform somersaults underneath you while they feed on the plankton illuminated by the lights.

The manta rays found in Kona are of the M. alfredi species of manta, which are smaller and tend to be found in shallower coastal waters. Small, of course, is a relative term being that the M. alfredi manta ray boasts an 18ft wingspan and weighs in at several thousand pounds.

The vessel has a nice big swim step and extra sturdy ladder so you can get out of the water safely, easily and gracefully. An upper deck affords additional awesome views.
