Molokini & Turtle Town Morning Snorkel
Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday & Sunday
Duration: 6 hours
The Ocean Odyssey will take you out to two different snorkeling locations, Molokini & Turtle Cove. You can participate in a guided "snorkel safari" with trained water specialists; snorkeling on a secluded reef abundant with sea life including the green sea turtle, an endangered species. All snorkeling equipment is provided complimentary including optical masks and wet suits. Instruction is given to individual needs and level of experience.
Increasing the quality of this charter, premium silicon masks, US Divers® dry snorkels and Velox™ vented fins are available. Also included as regular amenities are boogie boards with viewers used as a floatation device, water noodles, wet suit tops, optical masks and large terry beach towels. Once you have had your fill of snorkeling, enjoy a refreshing "rinse-off" shower with one of four heated fresh-water showers.
Diving Add-ons available during checkout:
Try Huka Diving, snorkel underwater, air is supplied through a long hose, no tanks nor classes needed. Or if you are more interested in Scuba Diving, Certified Dives are also available, Introductory Scuba Dives are not allowed in Molokini.
Molokini is a marine reserve with spectacular water clarity and a pristine coral reef. Rated one of the best snorkeling spots in the world, this reef has a variety of beautiful reef fish and animals. More than 400 varieties of fish are found in the Hawaiian waters and more than 25% of these are endemic, they are found only in Hawaii. Occasionally we see dolphins, Whales, Manta rays, and Hawaiian Monk seals. Between the end of December and the end of April this trip affords a great opportunity to see Humpback whales in the National Marine Sanctuary.
Turtle Point offers Maui's largest coral reef system nestled in the protected bays at the base of the West Maui Mountains. The caverns and ledges in the coral and lava, as well as the lava fingers nearing the surface create the perfect habitat for sponges, corals, octopus, fish, eels, and shrimp. The highlight of this reef is the number of Green Sea Turtles that gather here to be "cleaned" by fish known as the Hawaiian Cleaner Wrasse.
